BASEplate _ 001
A new custom dovetail BASEplate for the Leica Q3. Designed and produced in-house, here in Portland _ OR.
There was such a warm response to the AGS Q2 baseplate and a lot of requests from customers or potential customers to expand to additional models.
So, with the launch of the Leica Q3 this year, it only made sense to get started on it next.
Here is a quick rundown with some of the details that have been modified or added for the Q3 version:
Much care has been taken in both the design and production of these baseplates, so much so that the raw machined brass is featured as the final finish.
No additional polishing or buffing. This is how they look right after the machining.
* The only treatment after the fact is a dry oil that is applied to slow the natural patina process keeping them looking new a little longer. Previously the vacuum-sealed packaging was used to prevent the baseplates from aging prior to customer delivery. Now that part of the packaging is more for aesthetics and keep the part from moving around during shipment.
